What is Ceramic Coating?

A ceramic coating is a chemical polymer solution applied to the exterior of vehicles. Ceramic coatings protect your vehicle from the elements and make your vehicle much easier to clean and maintain through it’s hydrophobic properties. Much like a non-stick pan, a ceramic coating will prevent dirt and other contaminants from forming a strong bond to the paint, which allows for dirt to be easily cleaned away with minimal effort. Many products on the market from car soaps to detail sprays advertize ceramic, however, a true ceramic coating is not applied through washing your car with soap or sprayed on with a bottle. A true ceramic coating requires the applicator to wear chemical resistant gloves and is applied in small sections at a time. It is then allowed to cure on the paint before being wiped away with a microfiber towel.
